About me, my journey and the things I'm learning

Meet TheCozyDev

Hi, I'm Em 👋 — welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I'm a self-taught developer from the UK, building cosy little apps that make everyday life feel a bit calmer and kinder. No pressure, no burnout — just quiet, thoughtful making.

By day I'm 9-to-5; by night I'm here with a coffee, my dog Biscuit, and whatever I'm teaching myself this week. I'm not a "10x engineer" — I'm just someone who fell in love with building things and decided to learn out loud.

TheCozyDev isn't a company or a studio. It's just me: learning, making mistakes, celebrating the small wins, and sharing the whole journey as I go.

Whether it's my current build or the next idea brewing in my notebook, everything here starts with one goal — to make something that feels a little bit warm. So make a drink, get comfy, and stay a while. 🕯️

Cozy Pom

Cozy Pom is my flagship app — a warm, gentle focus companion built around the Pomodoro Technique to make productivity feel calm rather than stressful. Instead of pressure and streaks, it encourages balance, reflection, and steady progress with soft visuals, soothing sounds, and thoughtful little details throughout. Whether you're studying, working, or building your own cozy projects, Cozy Pom helps you stay focused while keeping things kind and pressure-free. It's the app I pour the most love into, and it continues to grow with regular cozy updates.

MochiMoney — everyday money, without the stress.

MochiMoney is a simple money app designed to make everyday financial moments easier and less stressful. It’s not trying to replace your bank or become another complicated budgeting app. There are no overwhelming dashboards, endless categories or graphs telling you how you should be spending your money.

Instead, MochiMoney helps with the small money questions that come up all the time.

> How much is something after a discount?

> How do we split this bill?

> How much do I need to save each week or month to reach my goal?

MochiMoney gives you simple tools for these moments, alongside a normal calculator for everything else.

It’s made for anyone who wants a little help with everyday money without needing to understand financial jargon or spend ages setting everything up. The idea is simple: sometimes you don’t want to manage your entire financial life. You just want an answer. MochiMoney helps you get that answer quickly, clearly and without judgement. For savings goals, it can also break a big target into smaller, more manageable amounts and help you see the progress you’re making over time. Most importantly, MochiMoney isn’t designed to keep you inside the app.

Open it when you need it. Work something out. Get your answer. Carry on with your day. No guilt. No spreadsheets. No unnecessary complexity.

Just everyday money, made a little calmer. ☕️🌸

Questory - your gaming story, all in one place.

Questory is a cozy gaming journal designed to help you keep track of the games you play and the memories you make along the way.

It’s not about turning gaming into another productivity exercise or giving you an endless backlog of games you should finish.

It’s about remembering the experience.

The game you couldn't put down. The character you became weirdly attached to. The boss that took you far too many attempts to beat. The tiny side quest that somehow became your favourite part of the entire game.

Questory gives you a place to record those moments, keep track of your adventures and look back at your gaming journey over time.

It’s for anyone who loves games as more than something to complete.

Whether you play huge RPGs for hundreds of hours, spend your evenings decorating an island, explore indie games or jump between whatever you're enjoying at the moment, Questory becomes your own personal history of gaming.

The idea is simple: we remember that we loved a game, but over time we forget all the little reasons why.

Questory helps you keep those memories.

Add the games you're playing, record your thoughts and favourite moments, track your progress and gradually build a journal that feels completely yours.

There’s no pressure to finish everything.

No giant backlog making you feel guilty.

No need to turn your hobby into a checklist.

Just a cozy little place to remember the worlds you've explored, the stories you've experienced and all those moments that made you love gaming in the first place.

Your story, one chapter at a time. 🎮✨

Cozy Pom is expanding

Today was all about making the Cozy Journal feel even more personal and alive. One of the biggest additions was introducing a little bit of daily personality to the Journal header.

It's a subtle change, but it helps make the Journal feel like a cozy desk that's been decorated differently each morning, giving a small surprise without being distracting.

Chasing the perfect cozy atmosphere

Today was all about something most people probably won't think about for more than a few seconds when they open the app. The backgrounds.

I don't just want the app to look nice. I want it to feel cosy, and that feeling is surprisingly difficult to create.

Building my little corner of the internet

Today marked the beginning of something I've been thinking about for a long time: creating a home for TheCozyDev.

One of the biggest decisions was choosing not to follow the modern trend of sleek, corporate-looking portfolio sites. That's not what TheCozyDev is about.

From launch day to building the future

Submitting an app isn't the finish line. It's another part of the journey. There were a few issues raised during review, including missing content rights information and additional iPad screenshots.
